چکیده
Using the membrane analogy, in 1934 Timoshenko derived torsional rigidity of a rectangular prism isotropic material as function its shear modulus, width and thickness. However, he did not consider energy conservation criterion, it could be either unnecessary or replaced by other criteria Timoshenko’s process. To confirm correctness solution, this work re-derives considering all equilibrium conditions, boundary symmetric anti-symmetric conditions displacement stress, even minimization criterion. TSAI technique, exact solutions for displacements, strains, stresses are perfectly. The is completely different form from that numerically identical.
